New York Jets – Bart Scott’s “Poetic Justice”
Patriots powerful offense made irrelevant by immaculate coverage!
Although I’ve lived in Northern California all my life, I’m a New York Jets fan (I’ll explain later) and an Anti-New England Patriot.
As I bask in the sun of victory today, 2 days passed a splendid sabbath Sunday, I can’t help but reflect on how under appreciated these Jets have been this year. Ok we TALK SHIT, we had a made-for-men melo-drama this summer by the name of Hard Knocks.one too many PR blunders, a Head Coach who ranks in the top 10 calculated smack talkers in the history of the game poll, etc… I understand and I accept that some [if not most] of the negative reactions are self-induced. But Come’on Man! Bart Scott’s right, this is the 3rd best overall NFL defense (some might argue intangibly it’s the best even with key starters like Jim Leonard and Kris Jenkins missing) and we know the impact defense’s tend to have on championships.
Scott’s rant wasn’t just anger, as Michael Wilbon pointed out in today’s Pardon the Interruption show, there was a streak of brilliance in Scott’s post-game verbal warfare. This is who the Jets are, they are a bunch of Hard Knocks that love to have fun and will let you know how much better than you they think they are. After all, this is a team that represents the Big Apple!
Can’t Wait Indeed! Pittsburgh doesn’t have to give us any bulletin board material, this team believes in its mission, and it may just have something to do with Rex Ryan’s antics.
This past Sunday against the Pats we were simply the better team to a worthy opponent, and we will have to simply do the same to a better one. But its fun to think about how Bill Belichick AKA “Hoody” hasn’t won anything since spygate : – D – Football Gods Punish Patriots
I can’t help but feel that we [The Jets] ritualistically severed the Tom Brady – “Greatest Quarterback of All Time” Superlative! Wow that’s huge for all AFC East rivals and the Patriot Hater-Nation.
